Make yourself stand out with a truly one-of-a-kind, beautiful handmade necklace set (necklace+earrings). This set consists of wooden beads, made out of white ivory wood block, exhibits vibrant colors made up with natural material infused lacquer. This design is created by the artisan from whom this item is sourced. As the lathe (the only modern non-human assistance used) begins whirring, the artisan introduces a hand-held chisel to the block, and applies varying degrees of pressure to sculpt the desired shape(s) and smoothen the edges. Chips of lac, a natural resin acquired from forests, are bought locally to make the color with which the wooden pieces are coated. No chemicals are ever used by this artisan for colors. By holding the lacquer stick against the spinning surface generates the necessary heat which gently melts the lacquer stick, and dyeing the piece. The brilliant luster in lacquer is achieved uniformly over the surface with the help of dried leaves of Pandan odoratissimus plant, a species of screwpine native to the region.  This process is repeated over and over again for each of the size of the beads used in this classic design. The beads of various sizes are then strung together as the artisan imagined using a locally sourced string. Length of the necklace can be easily adjustable to the desired size using the sizing bead.
